Wow! It's really been a while this time and life has been VERY busy! I wish I could write about everything that's been going on since the last blog but then I would be here all night and none of the 4 loads of laundry would get folded for another day! So a brief update....
Kauai!!!! Josh and I enjoyed a wonderful trip to Kauai at the end of July with my parents, brother, sister, and her boyfriend! We had a GREAT time and had to leave WAY too early.
August...
- Grandma Susie, Auntie Lou, and Cousin Katie came to visit us and we had a great time having mini-adventures around Sacramento. Colleen, thanks for a great tour of the capitol! Wish I could have joined them all for more of the adventures but I had to work. :-(
- DeEtte had her bridal shower in Livermore which was so sureal that she was getting married! I think I missed when we grew up (or were supposed to!)
- Another sureal moment: Florence's bachelorette party! We had a great time at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk; man, I miss that place! (I think Lynette and Florence joined me there for my senior ditch day a very long time ago!) Lynette thanks for doing a great job of organizing everything!
- Josh's former co-worker, Julianne, in SoCal got married but unfortunately we were not able to make it due to being WAY too busy!
- Josh's cousin, Brian, got married in Reno but again were not able to make it unfortunately because I had to work. We heard it was great though and wish the happy couple a lifetime of happiness!
September...
- Florence and Trevor's Wedding!!!!! I was very honored to be a part of their beautiful wedding and wish them a lifetime of happiness, love, and fun!
- DeEtte and Brandon's Wedding!!! Another beautiful wedding that I loved being a part of!! We lucked out with this one because we had a HUGE thunder and lightening storm the night before but it ended up being a perfect day, just like the couple! Plus, DeEtte is back in NorCal!!!!!!
- My college roomie, Jen, and her husband and baby moved 2 miles from us in Folsom! We are so glad to have more friends out this way!!!
- Football season officially started which Josh was much more excited about than myself but still enjoying watching some games with my hubby!
October...
- Josh and I both enjoyed playing in recreational softball leagues this fall. Josh on a men's work team in Folsom and myself on a co-ed team in Elk Grove with some friends from work. We will leave Josh's team's record to the imagination but let you know that my team finished 3rd!!! Unfortunately, my season ended a little early when I got bonked in the head with a thrown softball when scoring (yes, my run counted!) It gave me the opportunity to learn about my patients' experiences a little more by personally experiencing a CAT scan which came out perfectly clear!!! I still have a brain!
- Josh got to enjoy (kind of) the first of his CAL football season tickets with several friends from work. Unfortunately, CAL lost to USC so he didn't enjoy the game "that much".
- Andrea (Josh's cousin) and Santi got married at the beautiful Garre Winery in Livermore on the 10th. We had a great time and enjoyed getting to spend some time with Josh's family (even Scott and Sarah came up from San Diego!!!!)
- Josh and I just returned from a great trip to the LA area to visit my family and enjoy the CAL at UCLA game with Stacie and Steve. (Josh actually enjoyed this game because CAL won!) It was great to see our good friends Stacie and Steve again and I am looking forward to getting to spend a whole weekend with them soon when they come up for the CAL vs. Oregon State game. We even got to see Melissa, Cory, and their cute little one Kaian which we loved!
Yikes-o!!! It's been a busy few months but we love it!!! And that doesn't even include the most exciting news... Josh and I are thrilled to say that we have a new little one joining the family in April!!! (I think finding that out on Josh's birthday this year may have beat me getting a house for my birthday last year!) We don't know the sex yet but are excited to find out around Thanksgiving time! We will try to keep everyone posted with pictures and so forth.
Wow, I think I finally finished and it didn't end up being that brief after all!!! Josh is completely famished by now and we must go eat dinner. I will try my best to stay more up-to-date with the blog, especially with the new and exciting times coming up! We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the fall weather! Love to everyone!!!
