Just a quick note to share a cute email conversation from today. I can check my email from my phone and thus frequently check it throughout the day at work; today I had an email from Desiree, the daycare provider. All it said was, "Did u know james has molars cutting......" I responded with, "I did but he seems to be doing okay with them. Do they seem to be bothering him at all?" And the response was, "He seems ok but drool was literally pouring out of his mouth earlier, never seen anything like it before :)" So proud of my little man... a champion drooler!!! So, just to fully inform, James's bottom left molar has come through barely, the bottom right one is just starting to poke through, and the top two are just beneath the gums but not poking through at all yet. Other than the periods of insane drooling and the occasional finger chewing, you would never know that he was teething! (I am about to curse myself here and I may pay for it tonight but...) James has been sleeping fabulously!!! He is going to bed a little later at night (about 7:45ish) which I am LOVING (especially during the summer!) and sleeping in a little later (about 7am or 7:45am yesterday!) We'll see how it goes but I am keeping my fingers crossed that he gives me an extra 30 minutes of sleep in the morning!!!! Guess that's about all I have time for now, off to bed to work tomorrow!
P.S. James is at such a WONDERFUL age and we are enjoying EVERY MOMENT!!!!! I love that little man SO MUCH!!!!

A few more quick, cute pictures...
We celebrated my birthday with a fun, relaxing trip to Jack's Urban Eats (amazing salads!) where we got to enjoy the fresh air and sun on the patio! That was followed by a yummy trip to Nujo (yogurt place) where Michellie joined us for a delicious dessert! James LOVES frozen yogurt of course (who doesn't!). He was a true Slade boy... finished his yogurt then started "helping" Mommy with hers!!!!

Last weekened as we were getting ready for the day, James went into our closet and pulled down one of Daddy's shirts. I took this as James wanting to put it on so we did exactly that. A little big still but so cute! He also put on Daddy's work shoes but those are hard to see under that lovely dress... I mean shirt!

For a little fun this week, we decided to set up the smaller of our two tents in the living room. (This is why living room furniture is over rated!) James loved it!!! We tried to take a nap in there a few afternoons but the lying down and saying "nigh-nigh" lasted about 3 seconds! Maybe another time!!!! It ended up being the good night reading spot!

James's "1st" Haircut
James got an "at-home" haircut from Daddy a few weeks ago but we decided it was time for a "professional" one. It was a rainy weekend with nothing better to do so we took off to a cute little kiddo haircutting place in Granite Bay for what we hoped to be an uneventful haircut. The place was amazing and James was a perfect angel!!! (What else would you expect out of my son?!?!) Here are a few cute pictures...
Isn't this place the cutest!!!!

James chose the old fashioned Coca-Cola truck.

Memorial Day
The Slade family usually does a Memorial Day camping trip hosted by Scott and Sarah to help celebrate all the birthdays around that time! Well, Scott and Sarah slacked on their duties this year (i.e. were extremely pregnant and not allowed to go anywhere because Sarah was about to POP!) so Josh made reservations for us to go camping at Icehouse. It's a beautiful area on the way up to Tahoe but unfortunately still a little too beautiful with snow on Memorial Day!!! We were watching the weather and decided it was going to be a little too cold to take a 13 month old camping; luckily, the California State Park system made the same decision and cancelled all reservations until June 12th due to "excessive snow". Good choice!!!!
Instead we decided to join Mom and Dad at the cabin in Arnold instead. At least if it got too cold there, we had a heater, wood burning stove, and indoors!!! We had a great time and got some great pictures!!!!
James helped Daddy start the fire to keep us all warm. James knew that our wood burning stove was "HOT" and told us all the time! (One of his favorite words!) Unfortunately, we forgot to tell James that the neighbors' stove was also hot so he decided to find out for himself. He touched the stove with his fingertips and cried for a few seconds. We rinsed his hands under cold water and thought that everything was okay. Unfortunately, a few hours later James started SCREAMING!!!! We realized that he had blisters on the tips of three of his fingers so we got them wrapped up and he was feeling much better other than having big bandaids at the tips of two fingers!
"Hi!!!"

James and Grandpa chilling on the couch! I think I have a very similar picture with James and Uncle Doug from last year!

G-ma-ma teaching James how to splash in puddles! Thanks G-ma-ma!!!!

James was a big helper with fixing the refridgerator!

The fix-it team!!!!

"Right here Grandpa! Let me help you!"

"What are you doing Daddy?"

"Ummm, hello Daddy!!!!"

The weekend was highly productive... fixed the refridgerator, fixed the deck (and did an amazing job!), raked the yard and burned, pulled weeds, played lots of games, ate lots of yummy food, and enjoyed the beautiful outdoors!!!
It is way past my bedtime so it's off to bed for me!!! I will try to get more caught up tomorrow! Love to all!!!!!
Tackling!
When I picked up James from daycare today, Desiree asked me, "Has James been tackling his friends?" Unfortunately, the answer was "yes". It seems that James has taken a liking to hugging which is absolutely wonderful if you are Mommy or Daddy or another adult size person who can maintain their balance. However, when you are another little person who is still working on their balance, hugs don't always go over so well. It goes a little something like this.. James runs over to a friend and gives a big bear hug, James and friend lose their balance, James and friend end up lying on the floor scrambling/wrestling to get up! Oh my! And, of course, Josh is always thinking football!!!! Oh my!!!
