Here doggie...

A few more cute stories...

Let's start with Jack because James always gets to go first... We have been teaching Jack some baby sign language in addition to the sign language that everyone in our society uses to help him communicate with us before he can talk.  So far Jack can wave and say "hhh", clap his hands when he is excited, put his hands up in the air when he is all  done and say "ahhh ddd", and occasionally he will sign "more".  This morning, Jack used a brand new sign that he picked up on all by himself!  He was standing, holding onto James's bed, looked at Captain in the doorway, and patted his hand on his thigh as he said, "ddd".  I realized that every time we call Captain in from outside, we pat our thigh and call him in so Jack has picked up on it and started using the sign himself!  It's amazing what babies notice!

One more Jack story... I was feeding Jack some oatmeal and green beans last night and Jack stole the spoon out of my hand and refused to give it back so I got a new one.  Jack then wanted the new one too but I told him that he had his spoon and that Mommy was keeping my spoon.  Jack then reached out to hand me his spoon with one hand and reached out to take my spoon with his empty hand.  It completely looked like he was asking for a trade so we traded spoons and he was a happy camper!  I was shocked!  And I made sure to tell James all about it and what a wonderful big brother he was for teaching Jack how to trade when he wanted something!

And now for James... last night about 20 minutes after I put James to bed, he called me back into the room.  He had a burning question that he just had to ask right then.... "Mommy, can Winnie the Pooh climb a tree?"  What???  We did read, watch, or talk about Winnie the Pooh that day!  Where did that question come from?  So then we had to have a little discussion about whether Winnie the Pooh could climb a tree or not.  (I decided no because he eats too much honey!)  Crazy boy but I love him like crazy too!

Oh yeah, and my boys are getting cuter and more wonderful by the minute!  Jack is attempting to walk without holding onto anything and falling face first into my arms a lot!  And loving it!  James is becoming such a wonderful big brother and playing so much more nicely with Jack (which Mommy is LOVING like crazy!)

I know I have tons of picture and stories to share from our wonderful trip to Southern California at the beginning of the month but I still have to find the time.  Hopefully it won't be too much longer!  Love to all and to all a good night!
