- We have started the "Mom he's touching me!!!!" discussion in the car already! In the truck, James and Jack sit next to each other. We used to have a problem with James putting his feet on Jack's head but recently the tables have turned and Jack now puts his foot on James's shoulder. This results in the following conversation...
"Mommy, he has his foot on me!!!"
"Well, use your words and ask him to take it off."
"No, you do it!"
So I ask Jack to move his foot but, by this time, James has pinned Jack's foot under his elbow and Jack starts screaming because he can't get his foot back! James will finally let it go and Jack will usually then keep it to himself or we will start the whole process over again! I only remember being on their side of the conversation so I must say it's quite strange being on the "adult" side of things! :-)
- Jack has become quite the little communicator! Not always with words but definitely with his actions. After his nap yesterday, he brought his hat to me on the couch. I asked if he wanted to go outside and told him that he needed to put his shoes on too if he wanted to go outside. He proceeded to get one shoe, sit down by the back door trying to put the shoe on, then get the other one and bring it to me, then bring the first one to me on the couch, and go point outside! I guess someone knew what he wanted and knew he had to put his shoes and hat on first! We proceeded to go in the front yard so I could get the mail and put the trash cans away while Jack ran up and down the sidewalk. He loved being outside but was not very pleased that we couldn't go far because James was still napping!
- Jack surprised me even more tonight when he reminded me to feed Captain! James (or sometimes Josh or I) feed Captain each night after dinner. Tonight after dinner, I fed Captain quickly while the boys were playing. A short time later, Jack went over to the doggie bowls and started pointing at them. I told him "No playing in the doggie water." He stared at them for a little while then banged on the dog food container. I told him, "I already fed the doggie but thank you for reminding me." With that, he walked away satisfied and continued playing. I don't know if he was actually reminding me but it sure seemed like it by the way he banged on the dog food container then was so satisfied when I told him that I had already fed Captain. These little kiddos continue to amaze me every day!!!!
Off to bed (way too late again) for me!!! I hope everyone is doing well and love to all!!!
