I can't believe my little man is already a year old! Where did the last year go? Jonathan is such a little cutie pie and really enjoying playing with his brothers more and more each day (not sure if his brothers feel the same about Jonathan coming over to take their toys!) I love the relationship that Jonathan has with his brothers... James is such a wonderful big brother... he does a wonderful job of holding Jonathan's hands and walking backwards so Jonathan can walk practice his walking. (This is especially useful in public restrooms when Mommy wants to go potty with 2 hands!) James also excels in picking Jonathan up to "relocate" him when taking above mentioned toys! Jack loves his little brother too but I think he may have been a bigger fan of "Jonathan the cute little stationary baby" as opposed to this "growing kid who is coming to take my toys Jonathan"! Regardless, it's wonderful to see the relationships grow!
Jonathan is tipping the scales around 20 lbs now! And has finally graduated into 12 month clothes! (Perfect timing in regards to seasons since his brothers were in 12 months clothes in December also - at 8 months of age!) I am quite enjoying Jonathan being on the smaller end so I can enjoy having a little one for a little longer!
Jonathan is a crawling and cruising master! He can cruise around a table or couch in no time flat! His favorite place to cruise lately has been from chair to chair under the table. And his favorite place, hands down, to crawl is right up the stairs in no time flat! He must get some alert if the gate at the bottom of the stairs gets left open because he can get there in 2 seconds flat! Last weekend Josh and I both realized at the same time that he was on the stairs, Josh was downstairs and I was upstairs. Jonathan does a great job crawling up the stairs but will occasionally stop to sit and will lose his balance backwards because the step isn't wide enough. It was hilarious to watch Josh and I dive up and down the stairs without trying to make a sound (as to not shock Jonathan into sitting up and falling backwards). We both lept to catch Jonathan who sat there looking at us like complete crazies!!! Jonathan has even started taking a few steps on his own. It's only been 3-4 steps twice in the past few days but still a start! I may have another walker in the next month - yikes!!!!
Jonathan doesn't have many words yet but he is getting the hang of signing. He does a great wave, clap, all done, and more. He also loves to mimic sounds but the spontaneous words are still on their way. That being said, he understands EVERYTHING we say! (And is usually the first one to the table for any meal! I guess I should add that, even though Jonathan is on the smaller side, that boy can EAT!!! And out eats Jack for most meals!)
It's amazing to see how much Jonathan has changed in the past year and crazy to think about how much he will change in the next year. Now it's just about enjoying every moment!!! (before having another 2 year old!)
