April Fool's Day

Good news... we didn't have an April Fool's baby!!!!!! Though it would have been quite funny to have gone into labor and have no one believe me because it was April Fools. I also have to give myself a pat-on-the-back for being nice and not calling my sister to say I was in labor and then say April Fools!!! I just couldn't get her hopes that high and then crush them!! I hope everyone had a great April Fools day and didn't do anything too mean or have anything too mean done to them. We are still just waiting and trying to get things done before baby comes. We'll keep you all posted! Love to all!!!

Doctor's Appointment Today

So, I think many of you knew I had a doctor's appointment today. It basically went like this... the heart is still beating strong (I knew that because he has been kicking me A LOT!) and I will see you either next week for another appointment or in labor and delivery if you go into labor before then. So, basically, just sit and wait... I don't wait well! I will keep everyone posted.

Hi everyone! I have been meaning to write for a while but always want to include a fun picture that I haven't uploaded yet or is on a different computer so I just haven't for a while. I will try to be better the next few weeks and months because I am guessing everyone will be very excited about seeing pictures of the new little one coming soon! Don't know if I will actually have the time though! (I will try!)

So, a lot has been going on the past few months getting ready for baby to make his big arrival (hopefully not too big though!!!) I have had three wonderful baby showers and we have been so lucky to get almost everything we need for baby! (Though I'm sure he will still surprise us with something we never thought about once he arrives!) It was great to get to see so many family and friends and hear all the wonderful stories that everyone has from their own experiences. The nursery is all done and ready for baby to arrive, though I do think I need to pack my hospital bag before any of that happens! Why do I keep procrastinating on that one thing???

One of the most memorable gifts we received was a handmade cradle from my Uncle Bruce, Aunt Arlene, and Jared. Josh and I were truly touched to have such a beautiful piece of furniture handmade with such love just for our son. In addition, the box contained a wonderful wooden rocking horse that my Grandpa Whichard handmade in 1958 or 1959 for my daddy who was just a little boy. We are looking forward to our son getting to enjoy these two precious family pieces and then pass them along to other siblings and cousins!

As far as how big my belly is now... Here is the most recent picture which was last weekend at 36 weeks! I continue to grow and my belly continues to get lower so we will see how much longer!!! My doctor says we can breathe a sigh of relief on Saturday because I will be 37 weeks and the baby will be considered full-term anytime after that. So now it is just the wait and see game!!!

So, I think that is about all for now! I am enjoying some time off to rest, relax, and play before baby comes and I am crazy busy and tired! I will try to keep everyone posted as far as when baby may be making his big arrival and of course post pictures as soon as possible afterward! I hope everyone is doing well!!!!!!! Love to all!!!!!!

Crib!!!

I picked up the crib from Babies R Us tonight and, after much pleading from me, we got to set it up tonight too!!! It was amazingly simple to go together which we were happy about because we were expecting half a nightmare to figure it out. So we got it set-up and we (a.k.a. Josh under my masterful supervision) rearranged some of furniture in the nursery. The decorating and setting up is coming along well which we are so excited about!!! Here is a picture of Josh, Captain, and me with the newly put together crib. Many, many, many thank yous to everyone to contributed to the crib!!!!

We've been busy...

Wow!!! We have been busy and it's been over a month since I last posted. I keep saying that I am going to be better but it never seems to be that way. Maybe once the baby comes and we have cute pictures to put up or maybe I will have even less time once the baby comes, we'll see!

Well, Josh and I were very busy the month of December, as everyone else was I'm sure. We had a wonderful time spending the holidays with the whole family in Livermore. It was a busy trip but fun to get to see everyone! My favorite Christmas present was a new car!!!! On the 26th, Josh and I went down to San Jose to see a car we had been looking at for some time and bought it! I am the proud new owner of a 2007 Hyundai Veracruz (my mom car!) but I love it!!!

We were back in Folsom for a few days after Christmas before heading up to the cabin in Arnold for a few days at New Years. Once again, it was very relaxing and enjoyable to be up in the mountains. We enjoyed a few easy hikes with Joshie protecting baby and I on some of the slippery areas, what a good Daddy already!!!

January has been busy with work, starting baby classes, getting together with friends, and trying to get the house ready for baby! I am loving pregnancy right now because I am still small enough to feel decent physically and yet get to enjoy feeling baby move all the time. Josh got to feel the baby's head or behind sticking out of my stomach for the first time today which was fun. As baby gets bigger, I enjoy feeling him move more and more because I can almost start to feel which body part is jabbing me! We are enjoying getting the baby's room together and are so thankful for all the wonderful gifts and hand-me-downs we have already! They all make getting ready for baby much easier (and cheaper!!!) so thank you to everyone!!

Here is the most recent prego picture of me. I feel like I am gettin huge but know that I still have quite a long way to go and much more to grow!!! I will try to keep up-to-date with pictures for those of you who I don't get to see very often. I hope everyone is doing well!!! A happy 2010 to all!!! (Even though it's a little late!)

SNOW!!!!!

Did you know it snows in Folsom!?!??!?! Neither did I! Well, I guess it doesn't really snow in the real, let's have a snowball fight sense, but a little did fall from the sky! On Sunday night it was cold enough for us to get about an inch of snow overnight which was very exciting! Even more exciting was the few inches of snow that fell in Roseville where I work and the snow that stayed on the ground until about 11am that morning! It really made it feel like December and the holidays, I just wish it stayed around a little longer for us to enjoy!

In other news this week... I sold my car. :-( It was sad to see it drive away for the last time after we have gone so many places with that car over the past 6 years but it was time. I am hoping to get a car that can handle the snow (since it snows all the time here! just kidding! for the snow in Arnold and Lake Tahoe!) and will be a true soccer mom car in the next few years. NOT A MINIVAN!!!! but a mid-sized SUV hopefully. We will see where the search takes us and let you all know what we find!

Josh and I are staying busy getting ready for the holidays and getting stuff done around the house to get ready for baby. Everyone tells us that home improvements will not happen once baby arrives so we (mainly Josh) are working hard to get everything done before that time. This weekend included getting the kayak hanging from the rafters in the garage instead of taking up half the garage space (Thank you Connie!!!!) Everytime I walk into the garage, I smile at how organized and clean my garage is (at least for a little while before it fills up with baby, then toddler, then kid stuff!)

Prego Pillow

I walked in the bedroom a few nights ago to find that Josh had found a whole new use for the prego pillow!!! (Note white pillow under the computer!) He's going to love the Boppy!!! Hope everyone is doing well!!!
