A long time.... (again!)

Well, I guess it has been almost a month since I have written anything as several people have reminded me.  I had been so good for a little while but I guess we got busy again!  Let's see... what has happened in the last month....

- The first thing that comes to mind is that James threw up in MY MOUTH!!!  Yes, people, you read that correctly!  As we were about to check out at Target, James projectile vomited while I was holding him and it ended up ALL OVER both of us!  THANKFULLY, my mom was there to help get us all cleaned up and out of Target without scaring away too many people.  Unfortunately, that was the beginning of a yucky stomach bug for James, then Josh, then me, and now two weeks later, Dad, Mom, and Gary too!  I am hoping that it has run it's course for all of us and has gone on it's merry way because, trust me, it was not a fun one!  I guess they missed a bug in the flu vaccine!
- Right before the sickness craziness started, we got to watch Uncle Doug run in the NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championship at Stanford.  It was great to watch Douglas have such a wonderful race and do so well for his team.  Even better, we got to hang out with Doug, Ross, Derek, Katy, Mom, and Dad for the day!  James's favorite part of the day was running around in the dirt, mud, and puddles!  If you say anything about Uncle Doug, James will now say, "Go Duck Go!" (Don't worry, we aren't teaching him to cheer for the Oregon Ducks, he's "G's" just don't work so well yet!)
- James continues to do a great job sleeping in his big boy bed and loves to show everyone his new bed!  We continue to slowly transform his room into a big boy room... he has the big boy bed, a new big boy bookshelf/shelving unit from IKEA, two new bean bags (which he has made into reading chairs... yes, just like his mama would be!), and a new sports lamp!  His new dresser is waiting in the garage to be painted, then will take the place of his old dresser and changing table.  It's amazing to me how fast he is growing up and what a sweetie he continues to be!
- James has further embraced sleeping.  Twice this month, he went into his room and started reading in his bed in the early afternoon.  When I asked him what he was doing, he said, "Nigh-nigh."  He was ready for naptime so I said bye-bye and off he went to sleep!  James has also started sleeping in a little in the morning!!!  (Something I never thought would come!)  He has slept until 7:30-8 a few times this month which is COMPLETELY unheard of for us!  I am loving it but dreading the day that I have to wake him up to go to work.
- Now that James is sleeping so well, I am thinking about tackling the potty training.  I just keep thinking how nice it would be to have one out of diapers before the other one comes, don't know if it is going to happen or not, but it would be nice!  I must say, James has gone #2 in the big boy potty once yesterday and once today.  It is very exciting for James because he gets 2 M&M's and to pick out big boy chonies to wear over his diaper!  Today we even saved it in the potty to show Daddy when he got home and James was beyond excited to show Daddy!!!  So cute to watch!!!!
- Along with the potty topic, I am so excited to have my cloth diapers back!!!  We used them for a while many months ago but then they started giving James a nasty rash as soon as we put them on.  After months of using only disposable, I finally got tired of going through so many diapers so I finally did enough research to find out that washing the diapers in vinegar would get rid of any residue that could be causing a rash and it worked!!!  I love that I didn't use any disposable diapers or wipes today!!!  (I am that cheap!)  I am also hoping that cloth diapers will help James potty train sooner than disposable, at least that's what Grandma keeps telling me (and I hope she is right!)
- Let's see... what else... James is starting to use two word phrases which is so much fun to hear!  He is also using so many new words that it is often hard to understand him.  But I love hearing his new words all the time!  And I love hearing how funny some of his words come out, I think Auntie Michelle and Uncle Gary's favorite is how James tells the dog or anyone else to "sit".  Unfortunately, the "s" will sometimes come out as an "sh", thus James will tell the dog to "shit" before he gets a treat!  So cute!
- Josh decided the other night that James needed to have some Jell-O so I made some last night and he got to try it for the first time tonight.  His dinner was on a little Mickey plate with two little ears on it.  Josh filled both ears with Jell-O and James LOVED it!!!  We told James that if he finished his whole dinner, he could have more Jell-O, so James finished his whole dinner and Josh filled one of the Mickey ears with more Jell-O.  When James got the one ear of Jell-O, he promptly pointed to the empty ear and informed Daddy that he forgot an EAR!  So cute!!!!
- Josh, James, and I went to the train museum in Old Town Sac for the first time last weekend.  James loved seeing all the "choo-choo's", especially the ones that were going.  One of his favorite sayings is "Go choo-choo go!"  James is so into trains right now, that I also decided to take him on the light rail train this week.  He loved it and would announce to me when the train stopped, went, and what we saw outside.  This Saturday, we are planning on taking the choo-choo all the way to the choo-choo museum to meet Papa for the morning!  A whole choo-choo day!  I still want to take James on a real choo-choo (Amtrak) sometime soon!
- James continues to LOVE music!  He will ask me to turn on the music so he can dance around the house.  His current favorite is playing the dancing holiday characters that sing (much to the annoyance of others after the 15th time or so!)
Okay, I guess that's about all about James for now!  I know there is so much more I can write but everyone has to be falling asleep by now (if you have even made it this far!)  He is just so cute and I love all the darling stuff he does!

We all had a wonderful Thanksgiving here at our house!  We had a total of 15 family and friends join us which was perfect!  We were joined by Mom, Dad, Douglas, Michelle, Gary, Granny, Dave, Jeremy, Billa, Johanna, Eric (Billa's brother-in-law), and Devon (Josh's co-worker).  It was a wonderful day full of family, friends, fun, and way too much good food!  We even topped off the night with a little crazy Walmart shopping which resulted in a great buy on a TV for the front room!

My pregnancy continues to go well.  The baby (and my belly) is growing like crazy!  I am finally starting to gain some weight (which I think I have to attribute more to the holidays than to the baby) and I am feeling the baby move on a daily basis (my absolutely favorite part of pregnancy!)  I must say that this little guy is more active than James already which doesn't fare well for me in the future but I'll keep my fingers crossed!

It's past my bedtime so I guess that has to be about all for now!!!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Love to all!!!!
