Busy, busy!

I guess it has been a while since I have posted any blogs... sorry!  We have been busy!  I was thinking today, I think it's a good thing that I'm not a stay-at-home mom because Josh would never get to see his kids.  I would be off traveling and visiting people all the time!  Our big trip was our jaunt down to LA for Mother's Day.  We weren't sure how the long drive was going to go with a newborn and toddler but it was as smooth as can be!!!  We lucked out BIG time!!!  James, Jack, Captain, and I drove down to Livermore on Wednesday morning... dropped Captain off at Grammie Connie's for the week... had a yummy lunch and playdate with our friends Lynette and Allison... home for a nap... then dinner with Gaga!  Thursday was a busy day too... Target... playdate with Crystal, Lucas, and Ryan... lunch with Gaga at school... nap... dinner at the First Street Alehouse with Gaga... ice cream!!!
Meanwhile, Josh had flown to Dallas Thursday morning for a work meeting and flew home Friday morning, then drove directly to Patterson where the boys and I met him after some playing at the park and a little picnic.  We left Patterson at 1:40, both boys slept until 4ish so we stopped in Buttonwillow for potty, food, and gas, then finished the drive to LA and arrived at the Dragovich's around 7ish (I think!).  Jack got hungry with 45 minutes left but there was no way I was going to stop to feed him so I reached over the car seat and made it work!  (Thanks for the idea ladies!!)
We had a great weekend visiting with lots of family!!!  Josh, James, Jack, Douglas, and I stayed with Auntie Lou and Uncle Glen while Gaga and Papa stayed with G.G.  Saturday was a busy day... Auntie Lou and Gaga went on a Garden Tour, Uncle Glen helped his Aunt move, Douglas went to a track meet, Papa hadn't flown in yet, and G.G. took Josh, James, Jack, and I to the Lomita Train Museum.  Josh and James had a great time climbing on the different trains and playing with the train set while G.G. and I visited.  After a picnic lunch, we headed home for nap time followed by a yummy lasagna dinner at the Drago's house.
Sunday was Mother's Day so the men made a delicious french toast breakfast for everyone!!!  Breakfast was followed by a day full of garage cleaning at G.G.'s house.  It was quite interesting to see things from a wide range of decades and Grandma did a great job of cleaning stuff out!  We all worked up a big appetite for Carne Asadas at the Drago's!  Yum!!!  We had a wonderful surprise that night when Aunt Cindy and Cousin Katie stopped by to visit!!!  Aunt Cindy looked wonderful and was in great spirits which was so refreshing to see!
Monday morning we packed up and headed back north.  The boys were again wonderful for the drive and we made great time!  Once we got back to Patterson, Josh and James headed back to Folsom while Jack and I drove out to Menlo Park to help our friend Melinda celebrate her graduation from Stanford with her PhD!!!!  Wow!!!  We had a wonderful time catching up with lots of friends from high school!  Jack and I then headed back to Folsom with Captain on Tuesday morning.
Josh and James exploring an engine at the Lomita Train Museum.  Thank you GG!!!!

G.G. and Jack having a little chat!!!

It was a long and VERY FUN week!!!  We had a wonderful time visiting so many family and friends in just 7 days!!!
