I am such a proud little mommy today!!! (I'm not so sure about that "little" part but it sounds good so we will keep it there!) I don't know if I just haven't been paying attention or if Jack is just taking off developmentally but he has done so many things for the first time today!
While at the mall this morning, Jack signed "more" for the first time. We were having a snack and I knew he wanted more so I asked him and showed him the sign. He made fists with his hands and hit his hands together! So cute!
Then tonight I was holding him when Josh got home so I said, "Daddy's home. Hi Daddy!" And lo and behold, Jack responded with "Hi Dada!" Let's just say that Josh was slightly more than ecstatic!!!! Jack has spent the rest of the night saying "Hi Dada!" and waving! So cute!!!!
In addition, Jack is now pulling to stand like an expert! He started pulling to stand last Wednesday in his crib but I didn't get to see it until yesterday because I worked Wednesday-Sunday. Jack loves getting to see everything from a new angle and being able to reach so much more! I think his favorite is pulling to stand at the train table so he can knock over the bridge and grab James's trains. Not exactly James's favorite!!!
Jack was also a rock star at the doctor's this morning. He now weighs 18lbs 5oz which is the percentile. And he got a flu shot without even a wimper!
A quick note on James... who is becoming such a big boy! I love just getting to hang out and chat with him. It's amazing what he remembers and what he understands now! He asked me tonight as we were leaving Costco, "Mommy, why do we have to share the sun?" At first I was confused but then I remembered that I told him a few weeks ago that the sun goes bye-bye at night because we have to share it and it's someone else's turn to have the sun. I guess he remembered! Less than 5 minutes after that, he fell fast asleep in the car at 5pm! And is still asleep! (Obviously a no-nap day.) I am crossing my fingers that he sleeps until 7am but 14 hours of straight sleep sounds a little long. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Guess that's about all for now! Both boys are in bed so I am going to quickly clean up the house and then get off to bed before too late! Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all a good night! :-)
