Jonathan just went in for his 4 month check up today... he is weighing in at a whooping 12lbs. 11oz. (25th percentile), 23inches long (25th percentile), and his head circumference is in the 75th percentile! Never had such a little guy! Regardless of his size, he is growing like crazy and doing more and more. He is starting to roll over stomach to back primarily and even back to stomach a time or two. He is sitting up much better in the bumpo and Mommy is looking forward to him sleeping longer at night soon! I can't believe he is already 4 1/2 months old, only a few more weeks until solid food... where is the time going!?!?!?!?
A sweet, sad story from Jonathan's check up today... I convinced James and Jack to play a "fun game" called "who can sit still in the seat the longest" while Jonathan got his shots. Love that the boys were both very intent on winning the game but now I feel bad. After the doctor gave Jonathan his shots, I turned around to see Jack staring at us with a blank face and red eyes. I think he felt bad for Jonathan and was sad. It was so sweet to see Jack be so empathetic but now that I think about it, I feel horrible that I had James and Jack sit still in the seats for a front row show of Jonathan getting his shots. I explained to Jack that Jonathan's shots are so he won't get sick and Jack felt better when Jonathan stopped crying so quickly but I still feel sad for Jack.
An ironic little story... The dentist told James at his last check up that he needs to stop sucking his thumb because it is starting to affect his teeth so I remind James throughout the day to take his thumb out of his mouth (which he is wonderful at!) And, we are starting to sleep train Jonathan who will suck on his hand or thumb to soothe himself. Yesterday as I was getting everyone down for their afternoon nap, I had to laugh at myself as I walked out of James' room reminding him to try not to suck his thumb, then walk over to the monitor hoping that Jonathan found his thumb so he could fall asleep soon!
Jack just woke up, James is still sleeping, and Jonathan is off for another nap. I think all three boys have been awake for about 30 minutes today! Crazy day but wonderful day! Love to all!!!
