One of my favorite "baby items" has been a video monitor. During certain "phases", it has been great to know what the boys are up to and if I need to go into their room or if they are asleep. I have always joked that I want to keep the monitor in their room until they were 18! Well, it seems like the magic age is 4! Last week during nap, James' monitor suddenly stopped working. I figured it was just the cord (because I had been having trouble with the power cord) but when I went into his room after nap, I found the video camera and cord in his closet. I asked James about it and this is what he told me: "That's spying on me. I don't want you spying on me. If you want to know what I am doing, just ask me. If I answer then I'm reading. If I don't answer then I am sleeping." Well, there you have it, the magic age when we are done with video monitors is 4! :-)
Last night I was reading the book, "I know my Daddy loves me" to Jack. Jack told me that his Daddy loves me. He then told me, "Daddy my best buddy whole world!" Too sweet and cute!
The life of 3 boys... El Dorado Hills had a little festival in Towne Center to celebrate the 4th of July tonight. I asked Reesha and Josh to pack a picnic dinner for us so we could leave when I got home at 5:30 in hopes of making it on time for the 6pm parade. Right as we were getting ready to leave, James went running from the kitchen towards the bathroom and when he came around the corner of the bar, he bonked his little noggin on the corner of the bar which resulted in a "nice little divot" in his forehead. After a few minutes of a movie to calm down and apply pressure, we finally all loaded up into cars... Jack, Jonathan, and I to the festival (a little too late for the parade) and Josh and James to urgent care. One little stitch later, James and Josh joined us at the festival. Welcome to being a mommy of 3 boys... you never know when your plans are going to be postponed by an urgent care trip!
