Projectile Poop

Okay... so that wonderful, amazing son of mine... has quite a powerful gut that can spray poop like no other! Josh and I went to change his diaper tonight (together because of the poor little circumcision which was done yesterday) and had quite the experience. I had only undone the diaper when I realized the pad under James was already wet which means he peed as soon as I undid the diaper... new waterproof pad #1 and goodbye outfit. Then, as I was cleaning his bottom he decided it was time to poop...projectile poop... the poop hit the crib so there was poop on the sheet, bed skirt, and dripping down the side of the crib onto the carpet, not to mention the poop all over the wipes container and changing table pad. After cleaning the poop off the crib (so it didn't continue to drip onto the carpet), I went back to James to notice pee dripping down the side of the changing table, on the changing table cover, and on his hand... new waterproof pad #2. Luckily the rest of the diaper changing was pretty uneventful other than the screaming baby because he was naked (that's what happens when you pee all over your clothes) and because we had to take the gauze off his pee-pee. When Josh took the sheet off the crib, we realized the poop had gone through two mattress pads and two sheets! Talk about power! I guess having a double mattress pad and double sheet so you only have to take one off and have a clean one still underneath only works if the mess occurs on top of the mattress where the waterproof part is. It doesn't take into account projectile poop coming from the side! All just part of the experience of having a newborn!!! Hope everyone is having a great day! Love to all!
