The Birds and the Bees

Funny story... Background first... My friend, Colleen, has a daughter, Isa, who is 6 weeks older than James. They love having play dates (a.k.a. Colleen and I enjoy getting together with the kiddos and getting to talk to another adult). Colleen is also trying to set up an arranged marriage between the two. When I suggested that I would like James to have choices when it comes to choosing a wife, Colleen said she would be happy to have multiple daughters so James could have choices. Well, James and Isa must have gotten word of our discussions because I got a text message from Colleen the other day that said, "Excuse me! We just found some small boys drawers in our daughter's laundry. I blame you and poor parenting." Oops!!! My response was, "I will have a discussion with him in the morning for sure!!! This may have started when you allowed your daughter to lie on top of my son!" (Isa rolled onto James the other day when they were playing.) Come to find out, I accidently left James' shorts at Isa's after changing his diaper the other day. Let's just hope that this was the last conversation of this kind and thank goodness it happened at such a young age!!!

Other fun stuff...
- We found out this weekend that if we feed James like crazy during the day, he will sleep 10-11 hours at night because he doesn't wake up hungry! Let's hope this continues and that I didn't just jinx myself. (Knock on wood!!!) Thanks Jen!!!
- James now sleeps on his stomach and scoots all over the crib! We love to watch him move on the monitor and see what is to come. (He practices his moves in his crib at night before revealing them to the public during play in the daytime.)
- James was playing on his back on the floor today while I was making cookies and I turned around twice to find him on his stomach!!! (He does that every night in his crib but never during play!)
- James is learning to take naps in his crib during the day and Mommy is loving having some free time during the day to get things done!
- James is big enough (kind of) for his jogging stroller now. Does that mean I have to start jogging???
- James loves sitting in his high chair for 15-20 minutes at dinner and playing with his toys. Yeah for a quiet dinner, other than when he has to talk to his animals throughout dinner!
- James is quite the talker now!!! Can't wait to understand those words!

Coming soon...
- Josh, James, and I are headed off to a super secret weekend getaway spot on Saturday morning to celebrate Josh's 28th birthday. Where did the last 14 years go? I think they are only going to be going faster from now on. Yikes!!!
- Great Grandma Curran and Auntie Lou are due to arrive for a week long visit on Sunday afternoon. Can't wait for them to meet James!!!
- We are playing on a co-ed recreational softball team in Folsom starting in a few weeks. Yeah!!!
- James' first overnight camping trip is coming up! He gets to go play with Isa, Lucas, and almost Ryan in the dirt for a few days!

Hope everyone is doing well! Love to all!
