James is LOVING school, soccer, and taekwondo and doing a great job with all of them! He has really become such a wonderful big boy and I am so incredibly proud of him! Tonight he didn't want what we were eating for dinner after he tried it so I let him make his own peanut butter, jelly, and Nutella sandwich. He did a great job! And he read Josh and I two books tonight all by himself! We recently got a collection of books called "Bob Books" which really help early learners. I thought he was using the pictures and memory to read the first book so I had him read it again while I covered up the pictures and he did great. So the next book, I covered the pictures from the beginning and he still did a wonderful job. So incredibly proud of him! :-)
Jack is wanted to keep up with everything James is doing. He was wanting to write letters and his name like James so we started having Jack watch Leap Frog Letter Factory (a great movie to help kids learn their letters and sounds). He is doing a great job with his letters and knows the sounds for many of them! He is even pointing out letters he finds in signs when we are out and about. It is wonderful to see the joy and fun in learning! Jack is also learning to spell his name... "J - A - C... Jack!!!" Too cute! Jack is also working on counting... he can count from 1 to 4 but his favorite letter (or wait, maybe it's my favorite letter) is "eleventeen!"
So tonight was kind of a comedy of having 3 little boys... We got home from taekwondo around 5:45 and I asked the boys to play while I made dinner. They asked if they could paint so I got them set up with all the supplies and paint at the table. It went pretty well for a while until a little too much paint got squirted and mixed on a paper plate and hands got involved and arms and faces and hair and sand and then the whole project got a big "STOP" from Mom! The boys got shuffled into the shower for a great big hose down! James got redressed afterwards but this Mommy only had the time and energy to put a diaper on Jack because Jonathan was quite fussy and tired by this point (this is what happens when his oldest brother yells downstairs in the middle of quiet time to see how much longer and wakes up his baby brother!) Jack ran around for a little while in just a diaper until he saw James in a hooded long sleeve shirt (yes, it was 90 degrees out but that's what James chose to wear) and thought it was a jacket. Jack decided he needed to wear a jacket too so he pulled one out of the hall closet and this is when I turn around to find a naked Jack in the family room...
Mommy: Jack, why did you take your diaper off?
Jack: So I could put my jacket on.
Mommy: You had to take your diaper off to put your jacket on?
Jack: Yep!
Mommy: Could you wear both the diaper and the jacket?
Jack: Nope!
All this Mommy could do was laugh and walk away praying that Jack didn't need to go potty as he played nakey in the house for the next 15 minutes!
And now for Jonathan! Let's just say that this kid can move, pulls to stand, wants to cruise, LOVES to eat, and absolutely adores his brothers!!! It is so much fun to watch him grow more every day!
This Mommy's heart is full of love from all my wonderful boys! :-)
