Haircuts

Tonight after dinner, we decided to make a quick run to the local barbershop for Josh to get his haircut. While we were there, we decided that James could use a little trim too! Last time James got his haircut, we took him to a little kid place that had toys and videos everywhere to keep him very entertained (and over stimulated) but cost an arm and a leg! So, we thought, "What the heck, it's almost bedtime but he seems to be in a good mood so let's go for it!" He was SOOO cute!!! James thought the apron they put on you was the BEST thing in the whole world and LOVED the dogs on it. The only thing better than the apron was the squirt bottle!!!! Mommy had to stop squirting James with the bottle because he would squirm around in excitement and then make it even harder for the lady to cut his hair. All in all, he was a wonderful little boy and loved getting to get his hair cut at the same time as Daddy! A few cute pictures...

James LOVED the apron with the doggies on it!

Chasing the head!  Too much to watch!

Being such a good little boy!!!

Both of my boys getting their haircut together!  So cute!!!

Trying to get James to pay attention to the camera!

Look at my handsome men!!!!

Horsey ride treat after our haircut!
Before our haircutting experience, James made Daddy's day!  James and I were playing blocks on the family room floor and as soon as he heard the door, he jumped up and ran to the front door to say hi to Daddy!  He then insisted that Daddy help him build blocks.  Daddy was not allowed to leave the room to change his clothes and had to convince James that it was okay to say hi to Mommy for just a minute!  So cute to see how much James loves his Daddy!

We are trying out a new bedtime routine which is going wonderfully!  Our bedtime routine used to go a little something like this... dinner, bath, some playing/reading, brush teeth, Aquaphor, little more playing/reading, go to bed.  James used to go to bed quietly but lately he has been clinging onto me when I go to put him down and then crying for a few minutes before falling asleep.  So, we are trying something new.... dinner, playing/activity, bath, getting ready for bed, reading in his room, sitting on Mommy's lap to chat/sing/relax, then lying down.  We have only done it the last 2 nights and it has been wonderful!  James goes to bed quietly again and Mommy gets some snuggle time!!!  James has also altered his schedule a little with some help from Mommy and Daddy who want to enjoy some more summer evening activities.  James is going to bed closer to 7:30-8pm and waking up closer to 6:30-7am!!!!  I am loving that we have a little more time in the evening to play and I am getting a little extra sleepy time in the morning!!!  Keeping my fingers crossed that it continues!  Also loving the 2 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon!  I can get so much done and a nap too!!!  I better knock on some wood because I really hope I didn't just jinx myself!

All in all, it was a wonderful evening!!!!   Hope everyone is well!  Love to all!!!
