I decided that James must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning because we had quite the morning!!! I think "we" had about dozen "meltdowns" before 8am! The second I tried to get anything done, James decided to throw a toy, play in the dogs water, dig through bathroom drawers, spit, or anything else that he knows gets him in trouble! Aggg!!!! So, we decided that it was a Mommy and James playing morning instead of a James playing while Mommy gets chores done morning. That's just the way things are sometimes! So, we decided to make an early trip over to Auntie's this morning for a little walk. Which resulted in leaving the park early because one of us doesn't know how to NOT throw bark! Did you expect something else?
We then headed over to Mommy's dermatology appointment, where James was a perfect angel until the doctor came in... he then decided to scream and make noise because no one was paying attention to him! Again, did you expect something different? (Note: Dermatology appointment went fine. Just a yearly skin check and no concerns.)
Mommy then decided to make the ridiculous decision that we should have pictures taken! James was just dressed so cutely, it had been several months, and we had time so we decided to make a go for it! He was great for a few pictures but, for the most part, he wouldn't sit still (should I be surprised?)! Luckily we did get some darling pictures that I can't wait to share!!! The hardest part was waiting for the lady to complete our order, James finally got fed up and started dragging my purse across the floor and out of the studio. I guess he was ready to go!!!
Needless to say, we took an early nap today!!!
After nap, we headed out for our dentist appointment! (What a day for two appointments that required James to sit still and be good!) Luckily James got to hang out with Daddy while Mommy got her teeth cleaned, then he helped Mommy watch Daddy get his teeth cleaned. My favorite part was when I called down the hall to Josh that I had pirate's booty (James's favorite snack in my purse) in case he needed it to help entertain James. From that point on, all I heard was James calling "Mom" for the rest of my teeth cleaning! So cute!!!
Luckily the rest of the day went relatively smoothly, it's always easier having Daddy home to help!
A few random thoughts...
- James got a new tent at a garage sale yesterday and LOVES it!!! It's about 4' by 4' by 4' and set up in the living room. He currently has two big balls, his sleeping bag, 3 cars, and a deflated elephant balloon in there. Anything that I couldn't find today was found... in his tent!!! It is so cute how much he loves it!!!
- James also loves the quilt that Ga-ga made for Mommy and Daddy for their wedding. It was been laid out on the living room floor today and James will go lie on his belly on the quilt and name people he knows. So cute!
- I had to tell James about 87 times today where Dada and Papa are. The first word of the day, almost every day, is "Dada". I then have to remind him that Daddy went to work and we'll see him tonight. He then asks about "Papa" and I remind James that Papa is at work and we'll see him in a few weeks. We have this same conversation over and over and over everyday!!!!
- James has learned the difference between Mommy's music and James's music, especially in the car. As soon as we get in the car, he asks for his music. I will occassionally try to sneak in my music instead and I quickly see the hand motions meaning "I want my music back!" He will occassionally even let me know that he doesn't like a particular song and wants me to skip it (currently doesn't like song #23 on our CD) or that he enjoys a particular song and will clap at the end! So cute that he has such an opinion!!! (Though Mommy does miss her music!)
- As always, we are having a wonderful time! I love seeing how much James learns every day and how much more he tries to communicate every day!
Guess that's about all for now! It's getting late and I need to get to bed. Hope everyone is doing well! Love to all!!!!
