"Mommy, the fishy got out!"

These 5 words from James took me by shock today!!!  Let's set the scene... we had just gotten home from washing the dog and going to Trader Joe's.  James wanted a snack so I poured him a small bowl of pirate's booty and had him sit at the table with his snack.  Then Jack and I headed off to his room to change Jack's diaper.  (Now that I think about this, I rarely ever change Jack's diaper in his room.  I usually grab a diaper and change it on the floor in the family room.  I guess I know why now!)  Just as I finished the diaper change, James walks into the room and says, "Mommy, the fishy got out!"  (My first thought... You have to be kidding me!  The joys of motherhood!)  I walked out to find the fishy laying motionless in the middle of the table.  I was not about to touch him with my fingers so I grabbed some spoons to pick him up but he started wiggling all around when I touched him.  I grabbed the fish net to pick him up and put him back in the bowl.  After cleaning up the water on the table and wet newspapers, I asked James how the fishy got out.  He let me know that the fishy had a little help!  I reminded him that the fishy needs to stay in his water and could die if he got out of the water again.  We then headed off to the bathroom for a good cleaning of James's hands since James said he tried to put the fishy back himself!

As Gaga, reminded me... A very similar story occurred about 20 years ago but that fishy didn't have the same lucky fate unfortunately!
