So James and I went to the mall today for the first time since the fire. I thought about half the mall was open but only 60 of about 240 stores are actually open. It was so sad to see so little of the mall open and how boring it will be for Christmas shopping. I was looking forward to wandering around the mall and window shopping but it only took me about 15 minutes to pass by most of the open stores. Hopefully more will open soon and before Christmas! As I was trying to find the right place to park and enter the mall, I found the wrong one and was amazed at how strong the smell of smoke still was! Wow! Even the center was closed so where is Santa going to talk to all the kiddos this year and how is James going to tell Santa what he wants for Christmas on his VERY FIRST Christmas???
The great part about the mall was that I got to eat lunch with many of my friends from group and their little ones. It's been 3 weeks since we have been to our mommy and me group and I was really missing everyone. I am so glad that I have met such a wonderful group of people through that group and met so many great new friends!
As for James today... he again decided that he didn't need much of a late afternoon nap. It lasted about 15 minutes in the car and then about 20 minutes of James relax time in the crib with 20 minutes of Mommy relax time on the couch. Thanks for the 20 minutes buddy, Mommy needed it today! I have a feeling it will be gone for good soon!
