James experienced his first road trip this weekend!!! The plan was to drive down to southern California on Thursday night after work so James could sleep the whole way in the car and make the trip nice and easy for us. Unfortunately, James had different plans... he slept for the first 3 hours then woke up and fussed for the next 2 hours. We finally decided it was time to stop and get a hotel room because James was not going to be falling back to sleep in the car. We all got a good night sleep and were rested and ready to start our vacation in southern California the next day!
Our first two days and nights were spent with Stacie and Steve in Long Beach! We loved their cute little place (older homes have such wonderful character and style!) and getting to hang out with them again!
On Friday, we visited my old co-workers, and even an old patient and classmate, at the Veteran's Hospital in Long Beach. It was great to see my clinical instructor, Jen, and get to say hi to so many people that I haven't seen in many years.
Saturday was full of fun with our closest friends from our time in Orange. Between the six couples, there were 4 baby boys from 6-15 months! So much fun!!! How I wish we lived close to all those wonderful friends still!
Sunday morning we headed over to Grandma Curran's house to hang out with the family. Uncle Stretch (a.k.a. Douglas) was kind enough to make the drive down from Santa Barbara to visit. Thank you!!! It was great to get to see you!!! James got to meet Auntie Ruth, Aunt Cindy, Tiffany, and Katie on Sunday too!!! We loved being down there for so long and getting to see so many people!
There must be something about the southern California air or something about hanging out with all those PTs because James became a crawling (army crawling that is) machine this weekend! People asked how long he had been crawling like that and my response was usually "about a day now!" or "that was the first time!" Grandma was kind enough to tell me that James would be pulling up to stand by Wednesday... I thought she was crazy... but sure enough, he pulled up to standing tonight! I couldn't believe it! He also crawled from the family room to the front door!!! Yikes!!! The fun is about to begin!!!!!! (I am hoping to figure out the video problems I have been having on this so I can post some videos of him moving around soon.) I will try to keep everyone posted on his moving about and the teeth that I think will be coming soon!
Love to all!!! Being a mommy is the best!!!!
