First Naptime in Big Bed... Maybe!

So, we have been doing bedtime in the big boy bed for about a week now but the first nap is being attempted now... and it's HILARIOUS!!!!  I was enjoying sitting and watching James on the monitor but it is getting too funny and I had to come write about it before I forgot everything that he has done.  For starters, James is sick and ready for a nap which means we had a fussy 15 minutes or so before he finally went down.  He asked me to lie down with him so I did for a few minutes but then left among protests.  James then proceeded to get in and out, in and out, in and out of bed about 15 times.  He then realized that he could reach a bunch of diapers on his changing table from his bed so he started pulling those out one at a time.  With each diaper he would say, "poo-poo", open it up, say "no", put it on the bed next to him, then reach for the next one.  This lasted for about 15 diapers.  He finally had a pile of diapers next to him in bed which he added his blanket, owl, and cup to.  He then decided that they belonged better at the head of the bed so the entire pile was moved in arm fulls to the head of the bed.  It was then decided to spread them around the bed again.  Finally, there must have been too much of a mess so he took the diapers and shoved them between the bed and wall!  I better remember that when I need more diapers!!!!  It also looks like some of the diapers were thrown into his room along with his blanket, owl, and cup as James is now throwing them all back into his bed, then throwing them into the room, and back onto the bed again.  Okay, that got old so James has gotten his hairbrush and comb and is brushing/combing his hair.  Always need to look good before an afternoon nap!!!!  I guess I should probably go in to stop this but I keep thinking that it usually takes him a while to go to sleep anyway and he jsut needs to get this curiousity of having freedom out before he will lie down and take a nap.  Though I may be regreting this in a few days!!!!
Okay, I guess 30 minutes of playing in his room is my limit.  After not seeing him in the bed for a few minutes I finally went in there to find him sitting on the floor playing with his shoes.  I put him back in bed, removed all the diapers, hairbrush, comb, etc. and told him that if he got out again that he was going to bed in his crib.  Well, he screamed for a few seconds, then climbed right out.  That promptly earned him a trip to his crib in the guest room which he was not terribly thrilled with!  He is now banging on the wall in protest/playing!  Maybe we will try naptime in the big boy bed again tomorrow!
