Update

Let's start off by saying that I shouldn't write most of what I am about to write because it will result in me being up all night but I am going to do it anyway... I think we are finally settling into a routine and getting back to life as usual (or more our new life!) James is doing a great job of sleeping at night for 11-12 1/2 hours usually which is wonderful for us! Josh and I get some time together at night and I am no longer getting up at all hours of the night (other than for my bladder still!) James is also doing a much better job of taking naps throughout the day which results in a much happier and well adjusted baby for us and some much needed quiet time for Mommy! With that said, I'm sure teething or his 6 month growth spurt are just around the corner to throw a wrench in everything. But, if I have learned only one thing by being a mommy, it is that everything is constantly changing and to just take everything as it comes!

James is constantly doing more and more which is so much fun to watch! His sitting up is getting better and better every day, of course depending on what he is interested in at that moment! I had him sitting up today playing with a toy with a pillow behind him in case he fell backward and went to start the laundry. When I came back I fully expected him to be lying on the pillow or rolled onto his belly but he was happily sitting there still enjoying his toy! He is also having a great time getting up onto his hands and knees and rocking back and forth! There isn't much movement forward yet (other than throwing himself forward on occassion) but he is having fun with it! He is also rolling like a champ still and moving quite a bit in his crib! His afternoon nap today consisted of him scooting himself over to the corner of the crib, pulling his pajamas off the side of the crib, and flinging them back and forth over his head! I decided at that point that the nap wasn't going to happen!!!

I would say that James is growing like crazy... but he isn't! He decided that the growing he did in the first 4 months was satisfactory and has decided to stop there! He has gained one ounce in the past 6 weeks but nobody seems to be worried so we are just giving him a little more food (which he is happily gobbling up) and going to see how things go. So, he is still weighing in just under 16 pounds and about 27.5 inches long. At least we are able to get some good use out of his 6 and 9 month clothes, unlike the newborn and 3 month ones that he breezed through in no time flat!

October is quickly filling up with tons of fun and exciting things to do! James will get to meet some more family and friends for the first time this month, including his Great Uncle Glenn and Great Aunt Ruth from Utah; his Great Uncle Tim, Great Aunt Cindy, Cousin Tiffany, and Cousin Katie in Southern California; and mommy's friends from Chapman which include baby Wyatt and baby Riley!!! James will also get to take his second plane trip to go to Kyle and Emily's wedding. This one will be much shorter (to Arizona) and hopefully just as smooth as the one to Maine. We are hoping to also make our first family trip to a Cal game (fingers crossed that it goes well!) to watch Cal beat up on Arizona (I think!) I think that's about all for October!!! It should be a fun-filled busy month!

I also have to give a big kudos to Joshie!!!! Josh and James spent their first full day together last Saturday when I had to work. They had a very full day, including a trip to Lowe's and fixing the sprinklers, and everyone was alive and well when I got home!!! Looks like I can have some fun days out with the girls soon!!!

Guess that's about all for now! I must get off to bed! Hope everyone is doing well and love to all!!!
