Sweetest Boys Ever!!!!

It's official, I have the sweetest little boys ever!!!  James has been such a little doll lately that I just had to write down a few of the stories.  And Jack is a little cutie patootie as always!  A few stories:

- This Mommy was VERY tired last night so I decided to take a Mommy timeout.  I told the boys (and Daddy too!) that I was taking a 5 minute timeout (and set the timer for 8 minutes, shhhh!) then headed to my room for a peaceful bathroom trip and lying in bed to enjoy a few pages of my book.  When the timer went off (way too early!), James came running into my room and informed me that my timeout was over and told me not to get in trouble again!!!  It was absolutely darling!

- James has quite the arm so we have had to change the rules to throwing soft balls in the house and rolling hard balls.  He basically knows which ones are hard and soft and has now disciplined both Auntie Michelle and Daddy on throwing the tennis ball in the house for Captain.  He tells them that it's a hard ball and they must roll it in the house.  Again, as cute as can be!!!

- We started some chores with James a few weeks ago just so he can get used to the idea of helping out around the house.  Don't worry, I don't have him mowing the lawn yet!  After dinner, he is supposed to clear his plate to the sink, then feed the dog and feed the fish.  (If anything, we have to tell him that he has to wait until after dinner to feed the animals because he is so excited about doing it!)  Usually we have to remind James where his plate goes when he is done.  Yesterday after his snack, he got out of his seat, grabbed his bowl, took it to the sink, then came over to the couch to say hi to Daddy and I.  We were both amazed and thanked him for being such a great little boy!  He did the same thing at lunch today!  Such a sweetie!

- I have started some sleep training with Jack in the past few weeks.  Sometimes it goes better than others but today it was taking a little more time than usual.  I was in Jack's room singing to him when I heard the toilet flush!!!  I went running out to the bathroom to find James washing his hands.  I asked him what he was doing and he informed me that he went pee-pee.  I asked how and he simply said that he pulled his pants down and went pee-pee in the potty.  This is the first time that James had managed his pants when doing potty and definitely the first time he went all by himself.  I was so impressed!!!!

- We went to the State Fair this evening with Michelle and Gary.  We had a nice time walking around the different areas of the fair.  James LOVED the monster truck!!!  He got to go on a car ride all by himself which he thought was pretty fun too!  Great smiles!  He even got to see and touch lots of animals.  On the way home I asked him which was his favorite part and he said the birds, rabbits, and fishes.  He fell asleep in the car about 3 minutes before we got home so I carried him into bed.  He had two trucks in his lap and one in his hand.  I moved the two from his lap but didn't take the one out of his hand because I didn't want to wake him up.  When I layed him down in bed, he woke up and said "Mommy, truck".  I told him that he could keep it if he wanted but he said, "No trucks in bed" and handed me the truck.  It was so sweet that he remembered the new rule of no trucks in bed because he ends up playing with them for hours instead of going to sleep.  When he goes to sleep now, his trucks go to sleep in the Sodor Airport or on his bookshelf.

- Jack is his normal cute little self!  He is smiling more, playing more, laughing more, moving more, and awake more!  It was darling today during nap to see Jack trying to put his own pacifier back in his mouth.  I think he pulled it out so it was still in his hand but had somehow turned around so he was putting the back of it in his mouth.  Talking about pacifiers, it is so cute to see James put Jack's pacifier back in Jack's mouth when it falls out while we are on a walk in the stroller.  On the opposite side, it is very annoying to hear Jack screaming while he is tired and trying to fall asleep on a walk because James has taken the pacifier and is chewing on it himself!!!  I guess they are truly brothers!!!

I think that's about all for now.  I must get to bed because I have a very busy two weeks before I have to go back to work.  Boo!!!  Tomorrow is the Folsom Zoo with Christie, Andy, Sammie, Andrea, and Grace!  Should be fun!!!!
