Backpack

James has loved going to the park recently but he has also LOVED playing choo-choos!  (Best $20 I ever spent at a garage sale to get him the train table and tracks!  And a big thank you to everyone for the choo-choos for Christmas!)  Anyway, I was trying to convince him yesterday afternoon to go to the park with me or put the trash cans out on the street and he finally agreed.... so he picked up the four choo-choos he was playing with to join me.  The only problem was that it was too hard to carry all 4 choo-choos so he said "backpack!"  I reminded him that his red backpack was in his room behind the beanbag so he went running in to get it.  He put his four choo-choos in the backpack and a little snack that we decided to grab and headed off to the park.  Oh yeah, he also grabbed his football so we could "throw foosba" at the park.  We made it about 2 houses before it was time to enjoy the snack which was perfect timing because then we saw Daddy coming home!!!!  Even though Daddy said he would catch up with us, we had to wait for Daddy and eventually come back to the house to get him.  Then all three of us headed off to the park before dinner!
Anyway, just a cute little story that I had to share because I loved that he carried his backpack with his choo-choos all the way to the park!!!!

Quick little side note on the choo-choos... I am so impressed that James knows the colors and names of most of his choo-choos!  We have been working a lot on colors the past week or two and he is doing great with blue, green, red, and white.  The tougher ones are orange, yellow, brown, and black but we are learning.  It's just so fun to hear all his new words and learn what he knows when he uses his words!

One of his new phrases is "my alone please".  I was so surprised the first time I heard him say it, but along with his body language I realized that it meant "leave me alone please" or "I need some time alone please".  I am just so proud of him being able to realize that he needs a minute alone to calm down or think and then be able to express it.  Wow!!!  When did my little boy get so big!!!
