Park trip... kind of!

James and I were in the garage this afternoon playing while Josh was getting some things ready for household jobs tomorrow.  James decided that he wanted to walk to the park so off he started!  Luckily, I was able to convince him to wait for me and off we started.  At the first house, James stopped to say hi to the stone turtle under the tree.  At the second house, he stopped to say hi to the bird feeder and water.  At the third house, we stopped for about 5 minutes to pet the sweet doggie.  At the fourth house, James decided that the sun was too bright so we turned around and headed home to get sunglasses.  We quickly grabbed the sunglasses and started off again!  This time we made it to the fourth house before we had to stop to say hi to the doggie from the third house.  We then made it to the eighth house before we had to stop and sit on the sidewalk to read our Thomas book that James had been carrying the whole time.  Let's just say that with all these "adventures", it took us 30 minutes to get to the park.  Well, almost to the park, we were about 20 feet from the park when James realized that we forgot to bring a basketball so we had to turn around immediately to go home and get a basketball.  Unfortunately, by the time we got home (50 minutes after leaving) it was too cold and dark to return to the park (and dinnertime)!  We will plan on returning to the park tomorrow at an earlier hour with a basketball so we can have some fun playing!  All in all, it was a fun little adventure even though we never made it to the park!!!  Reminds me to "stop and smell the roses" and "it's the journey that counts, not the destination!"  Hope everyone is having a great day!
