Once again, James is such a little cutie (I am not partial in any way, shape, or form of course!) that I had to share some more cute stories!
"Clap, Clap"
The front room of our house (aka the formal living room and dining room) is James's playroom. Who needs a formal living and dining room with a toddler and another on the way! Anyway, the other night when Michelle and Gary were here, we were all hanging out in the family room right after dinner and James wanted to go into his playroom. He announced that it was dark in hopes of someone turning the lights on for him. Good 'ole Uncle Gary told James just to clap and the lights would turn on. So James clapped and Uncle Gary turned the lights on! Now, anytime James wants the lights in his playroom turned on, he will stand at the entrance, announce that it is dark, and start clapping! Thank you Uncle Gary!!!!
"I wash"
Auntie Michelle and Uncle Gary bought James some darling Kermit the Frog pajamas for Christmas that are size 3T. James has just outgrown his 2T pajamas so we decided it was time to take the tags off the Kermit PJs and throw them in the laundry to get them washed so he could wear them. Well, this morning James saw the PJs in his laundry basket and his eyes lit up! He grabbed them out of the laundry and the conversation went somewhat like this:
James: What's this?
Mommy: Those are your Kermit PJs from Auntie Mich and Uncle Gary.
James: I wear?
Mommy: No, we need to wash them first. They still have yucks on them. (Yucks are the greatest thing ever invented and save us from so many things!)
James: I wash! (At this point, he runs off to the bathroom and I hear the trash can where we put his dirty cloth diapers make noise. I assumed that he has put them in with the cloth diapers and thought yuck! But, when I went in the bathroom, he was standing on the trash can and washing the Kermit PJs in the sink just like he washes his hands!)
James: I wash!
Mommy: That is wonderful honey but now they are all wet! Let's hang them up so they can dry and we can wear them later. (Tonight I snuck them back into his laundry basket so they can be washed with a little soap before he wears them!)
I was just so impressed that he related washing his hands in the sink and washing these new PJs so he could wear them! I love this age!!!!
Kiss!
Okay, last one tonight! I could probably go on and on every night with cute stories because my little man is always doing cute things! (Again, not biased at all!) Tonight on the way home from work, I was on the phone with Josh (using my headset of course!) and said "goodbye, I love you", then hung up the phone. After I hung up, James said "kiss". I was confused at first, then I realized I usually say, "goodbye, I love you, *smack*" (that's supposed to be the kissing noise) and tonight I only said "goodbye and I love you". I guess James realized it too because he reminded me to give Daddy a kiss! I assured him that I would give Daddy a kiss when he got home tonight and it would be okay. Again, all the little things that kids pick up on that you never realize! Wow!!!
