So proud of my little big boy lately! Occassionally he will call for me in the middle of the night. I used to go in his room and lie in bed with him until we both fell asleep, then sneak out an hour later when I woke up. Not only was this getting challenging with my belly but it was becoming a little too common so I decided no more. The first few times that I refused to get in bed with James and instead just hold his hand from outside the bed were not easy but the other night he was a sweetie. I held his hand for a few minutes while I sat on the floor outside the bed but then decided it was time to go. I told him, "Mommy has to go take some medicine (sore throat) and then go nigh-nigh in her own bed. I will see you in the morning." He actually said okay and was perfectly fine with me leaving. I was just so proud of him for falling back to sleep on his own in the middle of the night. Let's hope this continues with the new little man on the way!
I have also been very proud of him lately for being so patient in the morning. As everyone knows, we have a very early riser on some mornings so James has an "alarm clock" in his room. It is basically a little night light with a bunny sleeping or bunny awake lit up. If the bunny is sleeping, James is supposed to be sleeping, if the bunny is awake, then it's okay for James to get up (after Mommy or Daddy comes in). Well, James decided to awake early last week and was calling for me. I decided to go in there and remind him that he had to wait for his bunny to wake up, then I would come back and help him up. After a little persuading, he was okay with it and let me leave to get showered, dressed, and ready. When his bunny woke up, he let me know and I went right back in to help him up. I was just so proud of him for waiting for his bunny and so thankful that he understands the whole "bunny" concept so we aren't up and moving too much before 6:30! It's also so much easier that it's not mommy that makes him stay in bed but rather the bunny. Anyway, I'm just so impressed with how he is growing up and how much he is understanding! Amazing!
Off to bed for me! Love to everyone!
