37 Weeks!

We had our 37 week check-up today which included an ultrasound to check on the size of the baby.  Their estimate is that he is about 7lbs. 12oz. right now and probably gaining about 1/2 lb per week.  If I go full-term, he would be slightly over 9lbs. and let's hope no bigger!  (Sorry Uncle Doug and Mommy, over 10 lbs is just too big!)  She also confirmed that Baby Jack is head down, still a boy, and everything else is looking good!  I was hoping to be dilated or at least effaced a little today because I have been having quite a few Braxton-Hicks contractions but no such luck yet!  I remember having lots of Braxton-Hicks contractions with James for the 2-3 weeks before he was born (I think!) but none of them were uncomfortable like they have been the past 24 hours.  Last night I was up for 2 hours (approximately 3:45-5:45, fun!) "enjoying" a series of contractions that eventually stopped.  I have had another few uncomfortable ones tonight but nothing consistent and nothing that is sticking around!  Though the contractions did nothing to dilate me, they did motivate me to pack my hospital bag and put it in the car just in case!  I guess it continues to be a waiting game and maybe the contractions will somehow encourage me to fold the massive pile of clean baby clothes in Jack's room!  Anyway, I guess that's about all for tonight!  I am going to head to bed soon, not knowing what tonight will bring!!!  Love to all and I'll continue to keep everyone posted!
