Okay, I think we need to start off with a little complaining session which I will quickly get over and get to the fun stuff... (Let me preface this complaining session with, "I am so thankful for the wonderful life I have and all of our good health.")
Now... Who thought it was a good idea to give someone at the end of their pregnancy a cold??? I can't breathe because the baby is taking up all the room and I couldn't breathe because I was so stuffed up (thankfully that part has passed!) Now, about the coughing... bladder control with a 7-8 lb child sitting on your bladder is challenging, add to that horrible coughing and you just don't have a chance! And of course there are very few medicines I can take so everyone says, just drink lots of fluids. Well, drinking fluids gives me heartburn initially, then makes me have to pee even more often, ugh! Not fair! Thankfully, I am just about over that whole deal and now a very itchy rash shows up on my left wrist and my right eyelid, nose, lip, and chin! Fun... come to find out, I was lucky enough to get poison oak. How you ask??? I have no idea!!! At least it's not contagious, just something annoying that I have to deal with in addition to the comforts of being 9 months pregnant!!! Okay, done bitching about my health, all in all, I am very lucky to have such wonderful health and be about to deliver a healthy baby boy!
Now onto other matters, as if there wasn't enough going on in life with a new little baby on the way and James about to turn two. Josh got a promotion at work which means lots of long hours the last two weeks as he transitions into the new position and figures everything out. And, after years of his company supplying work trucks, they are phasing all of them out in the next few months and transitioning to car allowances. Which means that we have been busy looking for a new work truck for Josh! Perfect timing! Now my positive side... so proud of my husband for getting another promotion at work. It is amazing how far he has moved in the company in only 7 years! And I LOVE the raise that came along with the promotion! And, even though work has been crazy busy for him, he has done an amazing job of coming home at a decent time to help with James, then finishing up work after James has gone to sleep. I just feel bad for Josh because he has been working so hard! And, as far as the new truck goes, it will all work out just wonderfully, and I am thankful that we are doing all the car shopping with a toddler, instead of a toddler and newborn!!!
So, all in all, life is going great! James has reached the wonderful age where he thinks that "Mommy and Daddy testing" is a good idea! And, from what I hear, this should only last another 25 years or so! But in all reality, I am loving watching James grow and learn and develop! He has become quite the jumper recently! He can actually jump with two feet off a surface about a foot off the ground and land solidly on both feet! I continue to be quite surprised by that one, though he seems to think that higher and higher surfaces are a good idea to try! Thankfully he checks with me first and I promptly tell him no or suggest that he asks for a little assistance! James is continuing to talk more and more! And he is entering that lovely stage where he catches every bad thing you say and latches on to it! Josh walked into James's room a few weeks ago to a soaked James and soaked bed because James was taking drinks of his water from his sippy cup then spitting them on his bed. He was able to empty his entire cup before we realized what he was doing. Well, Josh walked into his room and said "oh my God", and guess what James's favorite new saying is!!! We are trying to change this to "oh my goodness" but haven't had too much success yet unfortunately! James has also learned how to count from 1-12 and does quite well with it! We are starting to work on letters a little too. He can identify the B and O and even knows that B is for Baby Jack. We are trying to sing the alphabet a little more around the house but that tends to be quite challenging because anytime I start to sing, I am told, "No Mommy sing, Barney sing!" Thanks buddy! I guess I need to find a video of Barney singing the ABCs on YouTube! One thing that we are no longer interested in, in any way, shape, or form, is going potty on the big boy potty! At least he knows what he is supposed to do and maybe we will try to encourage it in a few months or maybe he will bring it back up. Either way, no need to try to mess with it when Baby Jack is about to arrive! As far as Baby Jack's arrival, James is getting quite excited I think! He knows where Baby Jack is, that he is coming soon, where his room and bed are, and is always wanting to lay down with him when we are reading books (aka lay on Mommy's belly). It will be quite interesting to see how things go when Baby Jack actually arrives!
As far as Mommy's version of Baby Jack arriving, it better be soon! My belly is getting quite big and more uncomfortable by the day! I am continuing to have Braxton-Hicks contractions on a daily basis (even some painful ones) but nothing has stuck around yet. I am eager to meet the little man but still nervous about having a newborn and toddler! I have to keep reminding myself that millions of other women have done it and that it is possible!
I guess that is about all for now! James just woke up from his nap after only an hour and 15 minutes and really needs to go back to sleep because he is still crying so I am keeping my fingers crossed that he does. Otherwise it may be an interesting afternoon!
I hope everyone is doing well! We will keep you posted on Baby Jack's arrival plans! Love to all!!!
