My Backseat Driver!

James has become my little backseat driver lately!  Today as we were heading to our play date, we were stopped at a red light and James tells me, "Mommy go, green light".  I look and see that he is looking at the green light for the traffic going the other way.  Thankfully I didn't listen but what a good little backseat driver.  Then, as we were leaving our play date, I hear, "Mommy watch out, car coming!"  James had noticed the car across the street turning as we were coming up to the stop sign.  Wow!  I guess a little someone really is watching every move I make.  He may have a difficult time waiting the next 14 years until he gets to drive!!!

Naptime... naptime has been quite the interesting endeavor lately!  We are trying to change his sleeping schedule so he wakes up at 7:30 instead of 6:30 and goes to sleep around 8:30 instead of 7:30.  We figure this will be nice to allow Mommy to sleep in a little (hopefully) while on maternity leave and allow us to enjoy the summer months a little more!!!  Well, I don't know if this was the cause of our naps going crazy or something else but regardless, naps have been very interesting lately!  It is not unusual for James to take 45-75 minutes to fall asleep for a nap but lately it has been taking him 90-120 minutes!  (Yes, that's up to 2 hours just to fall asleep!!!!)  Then he will take a 2 hour nap!!!  I must say, the nice thing about this is that I get up to 4 hours of free time in the afternoon!!!  But then, two days ago, he fell asleep in 30 minutes and yesterday he fell asleep in 15 minutes followed by a 3 1/2 hour nap.  Then today it was back to 2 hours to fall asleep followed by a 2 hour nap.  I don't get it but I think I am just going to enjoy the free time in the afternoon for now and just go with it!  The one challenging part about this crazy nap schedule is that on occasion James will sleep until 6:30pm!!!!  Again, we just go with the flow and give up trying to figure it out because as soon as we do, it will change again!

James had his first trip to the dentist yesterday morning and did a great job!  The dentist said we were doing a great job of brushing and to keep up the good work.  James was a great little boy and even laid down on the bed to let the dentist look at his teeth!  I was quite impressed!  Back for another check-up in 6 months!

There were a few other cute stories that I wanted to share but I can't remember them now.  I'm sure I will in the middle of the night when I get up to pee for the hundredth time!  Hope everyone is doing well!  Love to all!!!  (As I am sitting here on the couch writing this, I am holding a bag of peas wrapped in paper towel between my chin and chest to try to decrease some of the swelling and itchiness on my chin caused by the poison oak.  Oh joy!)
