Hand, Foot, Mouth

Well, that fever stuck around for a few days... I thought it was teething again because James kept complaining of mouth pain.  After it got worse and worse, I finally took him to the doctor on Thursday to find out that James had Hand, Foot, and Mouth.  Bummer!  It's basically a childhood virus that causes a rash in various areas on his body, including his mouth, and a fever.  All we can do is give medicine to reduce the fever and keep him comfortable and wait for his body to fight it.  And, do our best to keep Jack healthy!!!

James fell asleep in the car on the way home from the doctor at 12:40 and I was able to tranfer him into his bed.  Thank goodness!  He ended up taking a 5 hour nap!!!!!!!  Wowzers!!!!  Thankfully, he is getting a lot of sleep and feeling much better!

It was so sweet... when James started complaining of his mouth hurting he started asking for Gaga.  He called Gaga on Wednesday and asked her to come play.  Then when he was feeling so much worse on Thursday (and not eating or drinking much), we called Gaga again.  When we found out it was Hand, Foot, Mouth, we called again and asked Gaga to come up and help us eat and drink.  (Gaga was the magic person that was able to get us to eat the last time when we were teething.)  Gaga was wonderful and came right up to help out!  Luckily, James was feeling better pretty soon but I LOVED having Gaga here to help me get the house under control before I go back to work next week.  P.S. I go back to work on Wednesday and am in COMPLETE denial that it's so close!!!!

Here are a few cute pictures from today when James was feeling better...

James found my nail file in the drawer and was "filing his nails" (a.k.a. moving the nail file between his toes!)  So cute!

I don't remember what he was so excited about but think it has something to do with the movie Cars but it is just cute to see the excitement in his face.

I showed James how to do this on my nose and handed over the spoon and he was able to do it immediately!  You can see how proud he is!!!

James was a great helper cleaning today.  Gaga and I did some amazing spring cleaning in August in preparation for me to go back to work soon. Ugh!

A little more child labor!!!  He loved spraying everything until we started spraying the couch, the TV, all our toys without drying them afterwards.  Don't worry, it's just water in the bottle.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that James continues to feel better (and starts sleeping though the night again) very quickly!
